John is a seasoned marketing leader with a proven track record of creating and growing brands in the energy and digital infrastructure industries.  

Before founding Neuk Consulting, John led the marketing, brand, and lead generation efforts at Talen Energy and its subsidiary, Cumulus Data, where he built both brands from the ground up and spearheaded innovative campaigns and products, including the Carbon-Zero 24/7 sustainable electricity product and an industry-first mobile app for Talen’s customers and channel partners. 

John's efforts at Cumulus Data included initiatives to drive brand awareness and engagement as the organization developed the first data center campus directly connected to nuclear power, ultimately resulting in a sale to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for $650 million. 

At NRG Energy, John led a team responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy for various NRG business units and played a key role in the rebranding of NRG as it pivoted to a more customer-centric organization. 

Earlier in his career, John managed sponsorships and regional marketing for Capital One across Texas and Louisiana. He implemented strategies that combined local advertising, sponsorships, and philanthropy, resulting in substantial account growth and a more engaging brand story. 

John holds both a BBA and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business.
